After some time away, the work is moving in a new direction.
Hueyify has been paused. The story behind that is personal, and it’s told in full at kennethbspringer.au/our-story.
The new focus is snapWONDERS — deep digital media forensic analysis. The question driving the work: what does a photo or video actually contain? Not what it appears to show, but what is embedded in its structure — the metadata, the encoder signatures, the GPS coordinates, the manipulation traces, the hidden content. Most people share media without knowing how much it reveals about them. Most platforms strip some of it and leave the rest. The gap between what people assume and what is actually there is significant, and worth understanding properly.
The technical work is serious: JPEG encoder fingerprinting, Error Level Analysis for manipulation detection, GPS triangulation, noise field analysis, metadata excavation across dozens of file formats. Privacy matters. Authenticity in digital media matters. People deserve tools that tell them the truth about their files.
More to come.
